Glenda Tooke – Gourds and Cypress Knees

Glenda and husband Dave recently moved to Mountain View from Louisiana. Glenda grows most of the gourds she uses in her art work on their property in Louisiana. She also cuts her cypress on that property. The gourd must be dried cleaned and sometimes cut. Cypress knees must be cut, boiled, peeled and dried before they are ready to paint.

1492 Highway 87 approximately 2 miles from the Court House Square. There are two large rock pillars and a black iron gate on the North side of Highway 87 that marks the entrance to Glenda’s studio. Follow the road to the top of the hill. There is lots of parking on the lower lot, and limited parking (approx 6 vehicles) at the top of the hill
