Patrick Thompson – Owner/ Blacksmith

Heritage Springs Blacksmiths was established in 2004 at the corner of Hwy 87 and North Knox (just above the walking trail in the city park). The name of the business comes from an old spring located on the property.

Patrick Thompson was a metalworker and welder early in his life. His interest was rekindled by a Blacksmithing event at the Ozark Folk Center; where he apprenticed in old style blacksmithing, and was relief demonstrator for several seasons. He and Scott are committed to crafting metal products with care and attention to detail.

Scott Riedy grew up in the Ozarks and has always been interested in metal work. He has worked in blacksmith shops around the state, most recently as Resident Blacksmith for the Folk Center. Scott is in demand for his workshops, and as a demonstrator and teacher. He has work in the Governor’s Mansion in Little Rock.

Their products, although often produced with modern methods and tools, are made with the same dedication to quality that Blacksmiths throughout history incorporated into their pieces. That heritage is the fuel that fires their creativity and passion. Using steel, copper, brass and wood, they blend raw materials into exciting pieces of art. Many of their designs are based on nature. They also do custom pieces for their customers.

Heritage Springs Blacksmiths is excited to be part of this tour. They hope you will visit their studio to see their work. Please contact them at cte90926@centurytel.net for any additional information or comments.
