Patrick Thompson – Heritage Springs Blacksmith

Early in my life I was a metalworker and welder. After I moved to Arkansas from Austin, Texas to enjoy the natural beauty and solitude of the Ozarks, my interest was rekindled by a Blacksmithing event at the Ozark Folk Center. I served an apprenticeship at the OFC and spent several years as a relief craft demonstrator doing old style blacksmithing.I retired as Resident Blacksmith from the Ozark Folk Center State Park in 2017.

My studio is a barn red building with a tin roof at the corner of Hwy 87 and North Knox (just above the walking trail of the Mountain View city park From the Courthouse Square, go West on Hwy 66 (Main St.). Turn right on Hwy 87 (Lancaster Ave.) Follow Hwy 87. It will become Gayler Road. My studio is at the NW corner of Gayler & Knox Ave.
